Aguila Clan: Lolo Miyong

Folks,

We pray for Atty. Emilio J. Aguila, who passed away early this morning (3/27/06). His body will lie in state at the Don Bosco funeral chapels late this afternoon.

Tio Miyong was the last survivor of the nine children of Paterno Aguila and Petra de Jesus, among whom was my mother Candelaria. He was preceded by his sister Restituta who died last 14 February. He and his wife Catalina de la Cruz left four children (Cynthia Manlapig, Virginia Gonzales, Emilio Jr. "Butch", and Eduardo "Kidi") four grandchildren, and one greatgrandchild.

Tio was a brilliant lawyer, with an inquisitive and analytic mind. He topped his bar examinations. At his retirement from government service, he was Executive Officer of the Commission on Elections, the highest career officer of that constitutional body. Although after his elementary schooling, he left his natal town of San Jose, Batangas, he did not forget to visit it on special family occasions and also at town events when he renewed acquaintances. At Comelec he was able to provide employment to numerous town-mates of his; some of them still work there.

He was much attached to our patron saint St. Joseph and passed on to his children this devotion.

Condolence messages may be sent to this address "Butch Aguila" <ecaguila@pldtdsl.net>.

Best regards,

Juan "Nitong" Ona (Paterno branch)

Dear Pinsang Olive,

Dear Butch, Cynthia, Virginia, Kidi & respective families,

So loving & thoughtful of Nitong to relay to us about Tio Miyong`s sad passing. God bless his soul. May this be a comfort that God calls us one by one and `twas time for Tio Miyong to travel alone to his Home in Heaven with everlasting light.

We, the family of Pros pray for the repose of Tio Miyong`s soul. May our sincere condolences to all of you reach you and know that we join you in your time of sorrow.
